Preparation
For best results, the surface must be clean and free of chalk, oil, grease, wax, polish, form release compound (a coating applied to the forms prior to pouring the walls to keep the concrete from adhering to the form), mold and mildew stains, loose and peeling paint, rust, and all other foreign substances. Efflorescence, a white, powdery, crystal-like deposit visible on the masonry surface, must be removed. DRYLOK® Etch, used according to label instructions, is an effective efflorescence removal agent. All masonry surfaces are subject to occurrences of efflorescence. The application of DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer will minimize the reoccurrence of efflorescence when the surface is properly treated. Patch all holes and cracks with DRYLOK® Fast Plug®. Smooth the patch evenly with the surface around it.
Application
DO NOT TINT. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE AND DURING APPLICATION. DO NOT THIN. Air and surface temperatures must be between 40°F (5°C) and 90°F (32°C).
WET WALL APPLICATION: The product can be applied to a wet wall that is not actively leaking. Seasonal leaking: wait for a dry rain-free period. Continual leaking: 1. Drill drainage holes at the bottom of the wall to release water. 2. Patch the holes with DRYLOK® Fast Plug®. Apply DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer to a properly prepared surface with a roller [High quality 3÷8−1÷2” nap on smooth surfaces or ½”-3/4” nap on semi-rough or porous surfaces] or use a DRYLOK® BRUSH. If rolled, back-brush the first coat to fill pinholes. If brushed, work the DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer into the masonry pores, making sure to fill all pores and pinholes (see COVERAGE).
If the wall still appears wet, apply a second coat and dry 2 hours between coats. Spot priming of visually wet areas should be treated using the same directions as a full wet wall application. Spray Application: See DRYLOK.com for spray specs. Be sure to back brush after spraying the first coat. If stains bleed through the initial coat, apply a second coat of primer in those areas. If bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed between coats. DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer is the first step in achieving an optimal waterproof finish and must be top-coated with DRYLOK® Waterproofer (any formula) according to its label instructions to achieve a watertight project. Wait 2 hours after primer application before waterproofing. Use the waterproofer’s recommended number of coats. Applying DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer over a bare masonry wall or DRYLOK® Waterproofer (any formula) and top coating with DRYLOK® Waterproofer (any formula), according to its label instructions, will not void the warranty of the DRYLOK® Waterproofer. Full cure and dry time will be prolonged when humid, damp, and cool conditions prevail. NOTE: In heavy wet wall situations, DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer may dry a yellowish green on the first coat. A second coat corrects this discoloration to bright white.
STAIN BLOCKING, EFFLORESCENCE CONTROL ON A PREVIOUSLY WATERPROOFED WALL APPLICATION: If the surface has stain bleeds, or efflorescence occurring on coated surfaces, apply DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer to these suspect areas. With stain bleeding (yellow or red stains appearing through the coating), treat these areas with one coat of DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer and then topcoat with one coat of DRYLOK® Waterproofer (any formula) for a uniform appearance. Recurring efflorescence will appear as bubbles or lifting of the coating. Wire brush these areas to remove efflorescence and failing coating. Treat the areas with DRYLOK® Etch according to the label instructions. Apply one coat of DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer and then topcoat with one coat of DRYLOK® Waterproofer (any formula).
WET FLOOR APPLICATION: Prime the floor with DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer before applying DRYLOK® Floor & Wall Waterproofer. Wait 2 hours after primer application before waterproofing. Topcoat with DRYLOK® Concrete Floor Paint if desired. DRYLOK® Wet Wall Bonding Primer is not for foot or automobile traffic and must be top coated with a coating suitable for these conditions.

After trying so many different types and qualities of brush, these Jen foam brushes are the bomb. Each year for 6 years we would select an area of the boat to update the varnish. These foam brushes leave a pure clear finish with zero brush strokes. The foam holds up very well and gets into small spaces without making a mess.
