These portable spray texture guns require no power source to operate and quickly adjust to spray a wide variety of texture patterns and materials. Ideal for patch and repair jobs, or small remodels. Professional model features polycarbonate body with brass inserts for easy disassembly.
- No compressor required
- Designed for use with Homax premixed textures or 3L Hopper
- Applies multiple texture patterns and materials
Instructions
Cover carpet and furniture with dropcloths. Protect from overspray by masking where necessary. Prepare the surface by removing grease, loose plaster, peeling paint, etc. Texture will adhere to most clean surfaces.
- Shake texture well.
- Snap gun onto bottle, twist and lock tab.
- Open breather cap and puncture bottle (a Phillips screwdriver works well). Always have cap open and breather hole clear and unclogged when spraying. This is critical to prevent pressure build-up and poor spray pattern.
- Two adjustments on the gun control the texture pattern. A combination of these two adjustments will vary the texture pattern.
- Rotate the front plate. The larger the hole, the larger the splatter size.
- Adjust nozzle lever. This controls the volume and size of the splatter. Position A will produce the smallest splatter and Position C will produce the largest.
- Test the spray pattern on a sample surface like cardboard. Texture can be easily removed with a mud knife if done shortly after spraying.
- Spraying Texture: Stand 3-4 feet away from the wall and maintain the distance while spraying.
- Pump firmly and complete each stroke to the stop. For a small area, use a shorter stroke, but still complete the stroke. This will reduce any spitting at the end of the stroke.
- Move gun in a sweeping motion as you begin pumping each stroke.
- If spraying a ceiling, use a 40º angle to allow the material to flow into the chamber.
Surfaces can be painted after allowing the texture to dry overnight. Trouble shooting tips are also available on-line and in the directions provided with the guns.
