Where to Use
Old Masters Interior Oil-Based Sanding Sealer is recommended for use on interior wood surfaces as a sandable basecoat or sealer prior to the application of a clear topcoat finish. It may be applied to all types of bare or stained woods.

Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, wax, or grease.
New Wood: Sand the wood thoroughly with medium grit sandpaper and progress to fine grit sandpaper; this will help to create a smoother finish. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain. Sand smooth and remove dust with a rag dampened with mineral spirits.
Previously Finished Surfaces: Restore previously finished surfaces to bare wood by removing old finishes with a paint or varnish remover or by sanding. When applying over stained wood, ensure stain is thoroughly dry. Remove all dust prior to application.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

Application
Stir thoroughly before and during application. DO NOT SHAKE. Sanding Sealer can be applied with a pure bristle or polyester brush, or sprayed.
Apply sealer liberally with the grain, then level with light, even strokes. Avoid excessive brushing. One coat thoroughly seals and prepares the surface for succeeding coats of clear finish.
Allow surface to dry approximately 2 to 3 hours. Surface can be sanded after 3 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
Ensure surface is thoroughly dry before sanding. Smooth sealer by sanding with fine sandpaper. Be careful when sanding not to sand through the sealer film and remove the stain color.
Remove any sanding dust using a tack rag, then wipe the surface with a cloth moistened with mineral spirits. Topcoat with varnish or polyurethane clear finish.
Thinning
Do not thin. Use as packaged.

Coverage
Approximately 300 to 450 square feet per gallon depending on the type and porosity of the wood.

Drying Time
Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 60° and 90°F and humidity is between 30% and 70%. Interior Oil-Based Sanding Sealer will dry to touch in 2 to 3 hours and can be sanded after 3 hours or when sanding sealer is thoroughly dry.

Cleanup
Using a cleaning solvent, such as paint thinner or mineral spirits, is recommended for cleanup. The use of paint thinners or mineral spirits may violate VOC compliancy in your area. Check with your local government agencies to ensure proper compliancy.
