Marshalltown Hand Floats

Hand floats are designed to smooth and level concrete that has been freshly poured. They are small and lightweight and are used primarily for detailed work and smaller areas where larger floats can't reach.

Marshalltown "Broken-In" Magnesium Hand Floats come pre-shaped so they can be used immediately and don't require the normal break-in time of other concrete tools. The pre-worn edges eliminate the headache of gouging the concrete.

The type of hand float you choose is based on a variety of factors. Wood is a less expensive option, but they are not as durable over time as they soak up water and lose their edge. Magnesium floats tend to be the most popular as they are lightweight, and not only do they smooth the surface, but they also open the pores of the concrete allowing for evaporation of the water.

Resin hand floats are similar to wood floats in that they give the concrete a slightly rough texture, however they are more durable than wood since they do not soak up water, so they don't lose their shape as quickly.
